Asian Le Mans Series entry confirmed with full EDGE line up and Optimum Motorsport

Ahead of the final push for the International GT Open season finale, Sam De Haan is confirmed to extend his racing relationship with Optimum Motorsport over the winter, racing with the McLaren 720S GT3 in the Asian Le Mans Series. Sam will be teaming up with multiple British GT race winner, title contender, and newly signed EDGE Management driver James Cottingham, alongside McLaren factory driver and EDGE Stalwart Tom Gamble, at the wheel of the striking #69 race entry 720S GT3.

With an extensive racing programme across Europe this season, Sam has scored multiple race wins, including an impressive performance at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa to stand on the top step alongside Tom Gamble. He currently leads the International GT Open championship with his Optimum Motorsport teammate, Charlie Fagg, heading to the finale in Barcelona, before heading out for the five-round 2023-24 Asian Le Mans Series. The winter campaign kicks off at Sepang International Circuit with a double-header, over the weekend 2-3 December.

The full EDGE line up of Sam De Haan, James Cottingham and Tom Gamble will be in place  for the full season, as the trio look to fight for overall GT race results against a highly competitive international field. James has enjoyed a strong full-season entry into the British GT championship, proving himself as consistently one of the quickest Am drivers on the grid. James has helped to secure the Teams’ title, and currently leads the Drivers’ standings heading to the season finale. Tom is reunited with Sam and Optimum for the championship effort, having been confirmed as part of the roster of McLaren Automotive’s factory drivers for the 2023 season. He raced alongside Sam over the summer when the pair claimed class victory and an overall top-10 at the 24 Hours of Spa. He returns to the Asian Le Mans Series for a fifth consecutive season.

The season gets underway with the opening two races at Sepang International Circuit, 2-3 December, before moving to the Middle East. Round 3 takes place at Dubai Autodrome, over the weekend of 4 February, before the season-ending pair of races take place, 10-11 February, at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi.
