EDGE driver Josh Miller headed into round 2 of the British GT Championship with high expectations and a podium as a target to help the championship position.
Mixed conditions during Friday practise and Saturday Free Practise saw plenty of set up work taking place on DTO’s new Mclaren Artura GT4. Monsoon rainfall ensued after FP2 which in turn saw the cancellation of qualifying on Saturday afternoon. The result of FP2 would be where the teams lined up for the 3 hour race on Sunday.
Race day saw a complete change in conditions as the sun shone and track temperatures soared! Miller would start the race from P3. A solid start saw Josh hold position from fellow EDGE driver Aston Millar in the McLaren. 20 mins in and Miller made up a position into P2 taking the Porsche of Zak Meakin. An early incident brought out the safety car and a chance for the teams to cycle through the first of 3 mandatory pitstops. A steady pitstop would see the R Racing car lose a number of places down to P11 and P7 in class. At the halfway stage Miller was back in and sat in P9. A fantastic stint saw Miller climb up the order and found himself back into P3. A further safety car period gave the team another chance to get through the final pitstops. Millers team mate jumped in and unfortunately a track limit infringement saw the #23 Aston Martin have to serve a drive through penalty dropping down the order to P9 and P5 in class at the flag.
