EDGE pilots Josh Rowledge and Aston Millar made a good points haul at Silverstone last weekend at the longest race in the British GT calendar – The Silverstone 500.
The DTO duo made good progress in official practise in tricky conditions. The conditions go so bad that qualifying actually got cancelled due to the standing water levels on the circuit. The grid would be based on the results of Free Practise 2 meaning Aston and Josh would line up P4.
Aston would take the hot seat for the start of the 3 hour race. A solid start saw Aston hold position in P4. An early safety car saw the DTO crew call Aston in to begin cycling through the pitstops. Josh Rowledge jumped in and began to settle into his stint. At the pitstop the #36 McLaren Artura had to serve a success penalty from the previous podium at Oulton Park. Rowledge was now sat in P7 overall and P5 in the silver class. A hard charging stint saw Rowledge move up to P5 and P3 in class. A couple more pitstops and stints for Millar and finally Rowledge once more would see the DTO prepared McLaren cross the line in P5 overall and P3 in class.
