Callum Voisin Stars on Carrera Cup GB Debut with Victory & Confirms Championship Contention…
EDGE Sporting Management driver Callum Voisin made an immediate impact on his sports car debut, delivering a race win and podium finish in the opening round of the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup GB, held in partnership with Carwow.
Making the transition from single-seaters to GT machinery, Voisin joined Century Motorsport under the Rosland Gold banner, while also recently being confirmed as part of the Porsche GB Junior driver programme. Expectations were high heading into the weekend – and Voisin delivered from the outset.
Front-Row Start Signals Intent
Voisin demonstrated strong pace throughout testing, quickly adapting to the characteristics of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. That form carried into qualifying, where he secured an impressive P2 on the grid, just two tenths shy of pole position set by William Jenkins.
It marked a confident start and underlined his ability to translate single-seater performance into the demands of one-make GT racing.
Maiden Victory in Race One
Race one saw Voisin convert potential into a statement result. Delivering a controlled and authoritative drive, he secured his maiden Porsche Carrera Cup GB victory, pulling clear of the field to win by 4.6 seconds.
In addition to the win, Voisin also set the fastest lap in the Pro category – further evidence of his pace and composure on debut.
Podium Finish Caps Strong Weekend
Race two presented a greater challenge, but Voisin maintained consistency to secure a P3 finish, adding a second podium to his tally for the weekend.
Across both races, his performance demonstrated strong race craft, adaptability, and the ability to manage tyre performance and race scenarios in a new category.
Championship Contender from the Outset
As the opening round concluded, Voisin sits second in the championship standings – just one point shy of the lead – firmly establishing himself as an early title contender in the 2026 campaign.
Voisin Reflects on Breakthrough Weekend
Following the event, Voisin reflected positively on his debut:
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first weekend in the Porsche Carrera Cup. The transition to sports cars has been really smooth, and that’s down to the support from everyone involved.”
He added:
“A big thank you to EDGE Sporting Management, Porsche GB, and Rosland Gold by Century Motorsport for giving me such a strong package. To come away with a win and a podium is a great way to start the season.”
With a victory, multiple podiums, and immediate championship contention, Voisin has announced himself as a key figure in this year’s Porsche Carrera Cup GB – one to watch as the season develops.
