The Misano Circuit in Italy was the host for the third round of the GT World Challenge Europe championship.
EDGE driver Sam De Haan came into the weekend after a podium at his home race at Brands Hatch a few weeks before & was looking to capitalise on this with more silverware.
Testing went well as De Haan & teammate Calan Williams ended the day P2 in the Silver Cup class.
Qualifying was also very positive for the EDGE driver as he and his teammate qualified P1 and P2 in the Silver Cup class.
Race one was a superb effort as De Haan drove his team WRT BMW M4 GT3 to P1 in the Silver Cup and an amazing P6 overall.
Race two was a double bubble as De Haan and teammate Williams again had a flawless run through to take the Silver Cup victory, their second of the weekend. What was also pleasing was that their fastest lap-time was only 3 tenths slower than the overall Pro Cup winners from the same team. A super impressive performance from Sam and great preparation for the ‘Crowdstrike 24hrs of Spa’ which is the next round of the Championship at the end of June.
