EDGE driver Josh Miller had his strongest weekend this season so far at rounds 5 & 6 of the Intelligent Money British GT Championship at Snetterton circuit.
The R Racing squad and Miller have had a run of bad luck thus far so coming into the weekend they were looking for a strong points haul – and that they achieved!
Qualifying 1 took place and Josh Miller set a lap which would be good enough for P4. Team mate Seb Hopkins then took to the hot seat for Qualifying 2 and set a time that would be good enough for P3.
Race 1 took place with Miller taking the lead stint. As the race began Miller had a lightening opening lap and came across the line after lap 1 in P2! As the race settled down Miller got into a strong rhythm and began to pull away from P3. At the halfway mark the pitstop window opened and the R Racing Aston Martin GT4 Vantage pitted and Seb Hopkins jumped in. A fantastic clean pitstop and a strong stint from Hopkins saw the #23 car cross the line P3 on the track, but a disqualification of the #55 Ginetta post race saw Miller and Hopkins promoted to P2.
Race 2 got underway later on the same day. This time Seb Hopkins would line up in P3. Early damage between two other cars didnt seem to hamper Hopkins progress and at the end of lap 1 the #23 car held position in P3. Midway through the opening stint Hopkins dropped one position down to P4. At the halfway mark Miller would take the hot seat. As fantastic stint saw Miller move up a place and he crossed the line in P3.
