Reza Seewooruthun – Rokit FIA British F4 Championship – Rnd 7 – Knockhill
Round Seven of the Rokit FIA British F4 championship was held at the Knockhill circuit in Dunfermline, Scotland.
Qualifying was a disjointed session with multiple red flags. This meant getting a run and having the tyre ready in the window when the track was green was partly down to luck and by the end of the session it left the EDGE Driver P8 and P5 respectively.
Starting fifth in race one, Reza made a good start to hold position and by lap 10 was only 2.3 seconds off the lead which was a position that he held until the flag. A jumpstart penalty for a rival promoted him to P4.
Race two was the F4 reverse grid race which saw Reza start P5. A good start meant he maintained position and although he was faster than the cars in front it was very difficult to overtake around the small tight circuit. At mid-point in the race he settled into a rhythm putting in some good laps to break the tow from the car in sixth place. Unfortunately, with three minutes to go a red flag stumped any last gasp attempts planned to make up positions. However, a five second penalty for the car in front promoted the Hi-Tech Pulse-Eight driver to 4thplace.
The third and final race of the weekend proved the most difficult and Reza held station to be P8 by the end of lap one. However, unlike in the other races where he was constantly pushing the car in front, he struggled a little bit for pace in the final race and so bringing the car home in eighth place for more solid championship points was the best scenario.
Leaving Knockhill, Reza has further cemented third place in the championship with three rounds to go.
Shortly after Reza Commented:
“Not the weekend we were really looking for but we have to take the positives from it which was three decent finishes with good points and outscoring the rivals behind me in the championship. I look forward to getting to the next races now where I’ll be gunning to get back on the podium”
