The second round of the 2024 RoKit FIA British F4 championship took place at the historic Brands Hatch circuit in Kent. EDGE driver Reza Seewooruthun was looking to better his best result of fifth from the first round at Donington Park a fortnight ago.
Reza, driving his Hitech Pulse-Eight machine, qualified in sixth position 0.250 seconds off pole position in an incredibly close session which saw the top 17 cars split by less than half a second.
Race one went well and after a close battle Reza came home in fourth place, a season’s best result.
Race 2 unfortunately was not to be as an incident as the safety car was deployed resulted in Reza damaging his front wing and dropping back to finish 18th.
In the third and final race of the weekend Reza got off to a good start and got up to 4th place on lap one where he stayed for the majority of the race until right near the end when a driver ran wide coming out of the last corner and Reza managed to slip through to take his first overall podium of the season in third place. To top this off he also recorded the fastest lap of the race to boot.
After the weekend Reza said “I’m happy with the weekend especially after the race 2 result, to come back for my first overall podium of the season is a great place to be and I’m hoping to move forward from here.”
As the sunset on a scorching Brands Hatch Reza sits 6th in the British championship.
The next round of the British F4 championship takes place in two weeks’ time at the Norfolk circuit, Snetterton.
