REZA SEEWOROOTHUN – HUNGARORING RACE REPORT – GB3 CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 4
The fourth round of the 2025 GB3 Championship partnered by the BRDC took place at the Hungaroring Grand Prix circuit in Hungary. For EDGE Sporting Management driver Reza Seewooruthun, racing for Argenti Motorsport in collaboration with Prema, it was another opportunity to showcase his pace following a challenging start to the season.
Initial signs during pre-event testing were promising, with strong pace across multiple sessions. However, a change in setup direction ahead of qualifying proved to be a setback, with the car’s performance falling short of expectations. Reza qualified P11—an understandably frustrating result given the potential shown in practice.
In Race 1, Seewooruthun delivered a composed drive to move from P11 to P7, salvaging solid points and limiting the damage after a tough qualifying. For Race 2, the team made the strategic decision to preserve a fresh set of tyres for the final race. Reza started P10 and finished in the same position, executing a clean and calculated run in preparation for the finale.
Race 3 was unquestionably the highlight of the weekend—and arguably of Reza’s season to date. Starting 3rd on the grid with new tyres, the young British driver launched superbly off the line and executed an audacious move around the outside of the top two cars into Turn 2 to take the lead. From that point forward, it was a masterclass in control, pace, and composure. Reza proceeded to pull away from the field, ultimately taking the chequered flag with a dominant margin of 16.5 seconds—the second largest winning gap in GB3 history, bettered only by Formula 1 race winner Lando Norris during his time in the series.
Following the race, an elated Reza commented:
“I had no idea how far in the lead I was, I just kept my eyes forward and kept my concentration to make sure that we brought this excellent result home. I’d really like to thank EDGE Sporting Management and the team for all their hard work and perseverance. This was a tough one and really tested us, but really showed the highs and lows of motorsport—you never know what’s going to happen next.”
The dominant win in Hungary provides a huge confidence boost for Reza and the Argenti team as they look ahead to the next round of the GB3 Championship to be held on the Silverstone GP circuit in early August.
