VICTORY FOR GAMBLE AT CROFT

George Gamble – Porsche Carrera Cup GB – Round 4 – Croft Circuit

Defending Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion George Gamble arrived at Round 4 of the 2025 season at the Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire looking to turn around what had been a challenging start to his title defence. The EDGE Sporting Management driver had yet to record a podium finish in the opening three events, but Croft would prove to be a turning point, delivering his best weekend of the season so far and reigniting his championship campaign.

Qualifying was fiercely competitive, with less than two-tenths covering the top four drivers. Gamble secured fourth on the grid, putting himself in a strong position for the opening race. In Race 1, he delivered a solid performance, running consistently inside the top four before capitalising on opportunities to move into third place. This marked his first podium of the 2025 season and provided a much-needed confidence boost heading into Race 2.

Starting from third for the second race of the weekend, Gamble made an excellent getaway, moving into second place by the end of the opening lap. From there, he applied sustained pressure to race leader Oliver White, shadowing him closely through the early stages. On Lap 9, Gamble made his first move for the lead into Tower, but White defended well. The pattern repeated a lap later, with another attempt at Tower forcing White slightly off-line. This opened the door for Gamble to mount a decisive challenge.

Approaching the final hairpin with seven laps remaining, Gamble feinted one way before switching to the inside, executing a perfectly timed move to take the lead. From there, he controlled the race pace superbly, keeping White at bay to cross the line and claim his first victory of the 2025 campaign.

After the race, a relieved Gamble reflected on the breakthrough performance, noting that despite the tough start to the year, he has actually scored more points at this stage than during his successful 2024 campaign. With the momentum of a win now behind him, Gamble is targeting another strong second half to the season, just as he achieved last year.

Gamble’s Croft results – a podium and a win – mark a significant step forward and confirm that the reigning champion is firmly back in the hunt for honours.
