Charlie Fagg – AUTOBACS SUPER GT Series- Round 4 – Fuji – 4th August 2024
The latest round of the highly prestigious Autobacs Super GT Series was held at the Fuji Speedway circuit in the foothills of the world-famous Mount Fuji in Oyama, Japan.
EDGE Sporting Management Driver Charlie Fagg was once again out in the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 with the D’station Vantage team partnering Tomonobu Fujii.
Qualifying was a tight affair with the top 20 cars split by just one second. Fagg was just 0.337 off the pole position time and this meant a P4 starting position for the 2-hour race.
At a previous round that took place at this venue they had a good result hampered by a puncture and so a slightly more conservative setup was adopted for this race to ensure reliability.
Charlie started the race and got around the first lap in 4th position and then began to settle into a strong rhythm of consistent lap times to make sure he brought the car in safely and with as much tyre life as possible for his teammate.
Tomonobu Fujii lost a couple of places during the pit window but drove very well to get back upto 4th place, where they finished the race.
After the event, Fagg thanked EDGE Management and D’station for the opportunity and putting out such a competitive car saying “A good solid weekend with some good points and we’re very much looking forward to the next round at Suzuka”
