Reza Seewooruthun – GB3 Championship – Round 7 – Donington Park GP Circuit
Round 7 and the penultimate event of the 2025 GB3 Championship partnered with the BRDC took place at Donington Park, utilising the Grand Prix circuit layout. Following solid dry running in practice, qualifying presented a more challenging scenario as a greasy track surface greeted the drivers for Q1. However, conditions improved, and by the closing stages, drivers were able to switch to slick tyres.
Reza Seewooruthun, driving for Argenti Motorsport and supported by EDGE Sporting Management, capitalised perfectly, delivering two critical laps late in the session to secure P3 on the grid for Race 1. Q2 was fully dry, and Reza shone again — producing a dominant performance to claim pole position by four tenths, underlining both his speed and confidence around the Donington circuit.
In Race 1, Reza made quick progress from his third-place starting spot, moving into second early in the race. From there, he managed the race expertly — tyre wear was a key consideration, and with overtaking opportunities limited due to the short DRS zone into the fast chicane, Reza focused on maintaining the gap to the chasing pack. It was a composed and well-judged drive that earned him his first podium of the weekend.
Race 2 saw Reza start from pole position. Although he admitted it wasn’t his best launch off the line, the driver starting P2 jumped the start, picking up a 10-second time penalty. Reza slotted into second place behind the penalised leader, and the race evolved into a tactical battle. With the leader pushing to extend the gap beyond 10 seconds, Reza needed to stay close. A couple of small errors — as Reza openly acknowledged — proved decisive. The leader managed to pull out a margin of just over ten seconds by the flag, meaning Reza crossed the line second and remained there after penalties. Nonetheless, it was another excellent P2 finish and his second podium of the weekend.
In the reverse-grid Race 3, Reza lined up 10th and made quick gains to reach P7 in the early laps. However, his progress was halted after contact at the hairpin when another driver lunged down the inside, resulting in damage to both cars and forcing Reza into retirement. A frustrating end to an otherwise strong weekend.
Despite the Race 3 DNF, Reza’s consistent performances have elevated him to 5th in the GB3 Championship standings. With just 12 points separating him from the driver in 3rd, the battle for a top-three finish remains wide open heading into the season finale at Monza.
Following the weekend, Reza extended his thanks to Argenti Motorsport, Edge Sporting Management, and all of his sponsors for their continued support as he pushes for a strong end to the season.
