George Gamble – Porsche Carrera Cup GB – Thruxton
The fourth round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain was held at the fastest track in the UK, Thruxton, in Hampshire over the weekend of June 8th & 9th.
EDGE driver George Gamble, driving the Rosland Gold with Century Motorsport 911 GT3 Cup car qualified second on the grid with an average speed of 117.95 mph and was only 0.161 seconds off pole position.
The two races resulted in some great close racing, especially race two, which saw Gamble finish in 2nd place in both rounds but only 0.5 seconds off the leader over the line in race 2.
Gamble left the Hampshire track a solid second place in the championship going into the short Summer break and commented after the weekend: –
“A great weekend which resulted in a huge points haul & a pair of second places. Second in the championship going into the Summer is a great place to really try to push on from here. Big Thanks to the team who worked super hard behind the scenes, looking forward to Croft now & continuing this momentum”
