JOSH MILLER – SNETTERTON RACE REPORT – BRITISH GT CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS 6 & 7
Rounds 6 and 7 of the 2025 British GT Championship took place at the Norfolk venue of Snetterton, as the series returned to the UK following the fly-away Spa-Francorchamps round.
EDGE Sporting Management driver Josh Miller, driving for Mahiki Racing, arrived with renewed optimism after recently switching from the Lotus Amira GT4 to the Ginetta G56 GT4 package.
Qualifying showed immediate promise, with Miller putting the Ginetta P3 on the grid in a highly competitive and blisteringly hot session. His teammate Jack Mitchell backed that up by securing pole position for Race 2 in the second qualifying session, setting the stage for a strong weekend.
In Race 1 on Sunday, Miller made a lightning start and took the lead on lap one—an advantage he held until the mandatory pit stop. Due to the silver-silver driver pairing, the Mahiki Racing crew had to serve an additional 14-second success penalty in line with balance of performance rules, dropping them to P3. A strong stint from Mitchell saw the car climb back to P2 overall and, crucially, take the win in the GT4 Silver class—Miller’s first of the 2025 season after several near-misses in the Lotus.
Race 2 began with another strong performance. Pitting from second behind the race-leading BMW, the team aimed to jump the competition with an undercut strategy. However, a premature pit stop release resulted in a drive-through penalty for a pit lane infringement, ending hopes of a second class win. Nevertheless, Miller mounted a determined comeback to finish P3 in the Silver class—securing a second podium of the day.
Reflecting on the weekend, Miller said: “It’s fantastic to get our win under the belt and to have another podium in the second race as well. After having such a tough start to the season, we hope to take this momentum into the next round at Brands Hatch. We’d like to thank Mahiki Racing and Edge Sporting Management’s Phil and Eddie for all their help and support so far.”
