Reza Seewooruthun – Rokit FIA British F4 Championship – Rnd 6 – Zandvoort
Round Six of the Rokit FIA British F4 championship was held at the Dutch Formula One venue, Zandvoort.
EDGE Management driver Reza Seewooruthun was hoping to take his excellent form from the previous round at Silverstone that had seen him take a pole position and a win with him to the Dutch venue.
Driving his Hi-Tech Pulse Eight Tatuus F4-T-421, Reza qualified in sixth place. Qualifying was incredibly close as although he was sixth on the grid he was only a tenth off the pole position time.
Race one never really got going for Reza as a stall on the start finish line meant that he slipped back to 21st by the end of the first lap. There in started a brave recovery drive back to P11 which was painstakingly one place outside the points.
Unfortunately race two wasn’t much better as contact on the first lap bent his front wing and suspension which made the car incredibly difficult to drive and he limped home to P24.
Luckily the best was yet to come in the final race of the weekend where Reza finished second after a very controlled & disciplined drive preserving tyre life saw him come home for a well-deserved podium.
Shortly after Reza Commented:
“This was not the weekend that we’d hoped for after having such good pace in qualifying but the stall in the race one, which was my mistake, and being crashed into in Race 2 really hampered our chances of a hat-trick of good results. However, I’m very pleased with the bounce back in Race 3 to finish second & back on the podium. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Hi-Tech for all their hard work and to Edge Sporting Management for all their support.”
Reza is now joint third in the championship with the next round taking place at Knockhill, in Scotland, in 4 week’s time.
