EDGE Sporting Management Tom Gamble Secures P2 Finish at Sebring 12 Hours in Dramatic GTD Battle
EDGE Sporting Management and Aston Martin factory driver Tom Gamble delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, finishing second in the GTD class- just 0.7 seconds shy of victory after 12 hours of racing.
Competing in the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo alongside Zacharie Robichon and Eduardo Barrichello, Gamble played a key role in one of the closest finishes of the event.
The trio completed 318 laps of the demanding Sebring circuit, maintaining a consistent presence at the front of the GTD field throughout the race. A clean and disciplined execution – free from penalties or major issues – kept the car firmly in contention heading into the final hour.
As the race entered its closing stages, the GTD class was tightly compressed, setting up a sprint to the flag. The #27 Aston Martin had dropped down the order to P14, yet Gamble managed to drag the #27 back up into the lead battle. He fought for victory until the final moments, ultimately crossing the line just 0.7 seconds behind the class winner.
Gamble’s performance was underpinned by strong consistency across his stints, effective tyre management, and excellent traffic navigation in one of endurance racing’s most challenging environments. His one lap pace was also super impressive with his fastest race lap only 0.162 seconds off the GT3 categories fastest lap.
The result marks a significant step forward for Gamble at Sebring, improving on last year’s podium and reinforcing his position as a leading performer within Aston Martin’s GT programme.
The P2 finish delivers valuable championship points for Heart of Racing and Aston Martin in the Michelin Endurance Cup, with the team firmly established as a contender for victories in the remainder of the season.
