EDGE driver Josh Miller made his European racing debut over the Easter Weekend by taking part in the first round of the French GT Championship at Circuit De Nogaro, driving an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 for Mirage Racing.
This was a fantastic opportunity for Miller to get some vital testing & racing under his belt just a week before the first round of the European GT4 Championship at Paul Ricard over the weekend of April 5th to 7th.
Miller qualified a very impressive 6th place, which considering it was his first time at the circuit amongst a grid of primarily French drivers with much more experience at Nogaro was a great way to go into the weekend’s races.
Race 1 was, unfortunately, a short affair as Millers teammate, who started the race, had contact on Lap 1 that forced the car into retirement.
Race 2, Miller started the race & after a brilliant start went from P6 to P3. At the end of Lap 1 however a car spun in front of Miller who had to take evasive action to avoid contact which resulted in a trip through the gravel and saw him re-join near the back of the field.
A lengthy safety car period ensued but once it went green Miller started to carve his way through the field and pitted to hand over to his teammate in P20.
Millers teammate then continued their impressive move through the field and by the end of the race came across the line P13.
Overall the race results didn’t show Millers full potential from Qualifying, through no fault of his own, but it was a very beneficial weekend in preparation for the European GT4 opening round next weekend.
