EDGE Sporting Management Duo Claim British GT4 Silver Championship. British GT Championship – Round 9 – Donington GP
The final round of the 2025 British GT Championship took place at the Donington Circuit on the world-famous Grand Prix layout. EDGE Sporting Management driver pairing of Harry George and Luca Hopkinson arrived with a mathematical shot at the overall GT4 title and firmly in contention for the GT4 Silver Championship, the class in which they compete.
The early signs were encouraging — pace in free practice was promising, and both drivers felt confident going into qualifying. While neither felt they fully optimised their laps on the new tyre, strong sessions saw them qualify P2 and P7 respectively, securing P4 overall in the GT4 category ahead of Sunday’s two-hour season finale.
The race itself was held in truly unpredictable conditions, with weather ranging from greasy to damp throughout. Harry took the start and was immediately at ease in the mixed conditions, settling into a superb rhythm and building a 30-second lead in GT4 before pitting to hand over to teammate Luca Hopkinson. Due to their success at the previous round, the pair carried a 20-second success penalty in the pits — making Harry’s opening stint all the more important.
Luca then took over for the final hour and delivered a composed, intelligent drive to bring the Optimum Motorsport McLaren home in 3rd overall in GT4 and 2nd in the Silver class. Impressively, Luca also set the fastest lap of the GT4 category during his stint, underlining the car’s pace and the strength of the drive.
When the dust settled and the final points were tallied, it was confirmed: Harry George and Luca Hopkinson were crowned the 2025 GT4 Silver Class Champions — a superb reward for a season marked by consistency, speed, and teamwork.
Following the race, both drivers thanked the entire Optimum Motorsport crew for their hard work, professionalism, and preparation across the season, as well as Phil and Eddie at EDGE Sporting Management for bringing them together as a pairing in what became a title-winning campaign.
