EDGE Sporting Management Driver Kaylen Frederick Delivers Standout Performance on Second GTP Start at Sebring
Edge Sporting Management driver Kaylen Frederick produced an impressive performance at the 2026 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, finishing ninth overall in the GTP class after running competitively with factory teams throughout the race.
Competing in just his second major prototype event following his debut at Daytona, Frederick drove the #5 JDC Miller Motorsports Porsche 963 in the demanding 12-hour endurance classic.
Frederick underlined his one-lap pace in qualifying, placing the car P7 overall, just 0.569 seconds off pole position, and just 100th of a second off Porsche factory ace, Filipe Nasr’s time – a notable achievement for a privateer entry competing against full factory programmes.
During the race, Frederick completed 113 of the team’s 343 laps and set the fastest lap of the car, demonstrating strong pace and consistency across his stints. The team ultimately finished P9 overall (GTP), crossing the line just 24 seconds behind the race winner and remaining on the lead lap.
However, the final result does not fully reflect the performance shown. In his opening stint, Frederick charged forward to P5 and was firmly in podium contention before being spun by a factory-run competitor- an incident that later resulted in a drive-through penalty for the offending car.
Despite the setback, Frederick and his teammates regrouped effectively, delivering consistent lap times that matched the pace of the leading factory entries. A clean and composed recovery drive ensured the car returned to the finish on the lead lap in a highly competitive GTP field.
Frederick’s performance at Sebring highlights his rapid adaptation to top-level prototype machinery, combining strong qualifying speed with race-long consistency and resilience in the face of adversity.
The result marks another significant step in Frederick’s progression within endurance racing, underlining his potential to compete at the front of the GTP field.
