POLE AND VICTORY FOR FAGG IN SUPER GT AT SUZUKA

Charlie Fagg – AUTOBACS SUPER GT Series- 3hr of Suzuka

EDGE Driver Charlie Fagg recorded the first International win for the new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO which was also the British manufactures first win in the prestigious Autobacs Super GT Series in Japan held at Suzuka on the weekend of June 1-2nd.

Driving for the Japanese based D’station, Fagg had managed to do a tyre test at the historic circuit a week before & this extra track time, at the challenging & narrow circuit, was a key factor in enabling Fagg to get upto speed quickly in a series where track time is limited.

Strong pace in testing materialised in qualifying when Fagg, and his teammate, Tomonobu Fujii qualified the Vantage GT3 on pole position for the three-hour endurance race the day after.

Fagg described the race as ‘fairly straightforward’ with no safety cars to deal with and the lap times that both drivers were able to achieve throughout the three hours meant by the end of the race they took an historic win both for D’station and Aston Martin.

After the race, Fagg thanked EDGE Management and D’station for such a fantastic opportunity and he is now looking forward to the next round at the Fuji Circuit in August.
